I’m a Moscow-based American journalist interested in the far north.
I was previously a correspondent for the Guardian and The Daily Telegraph, and my work has appeared in The Atlantic, National Geographic, The New York Times, Time, CBS News Radio and VICE News.
I’ve covered Arctic oil spills, wildfires, permafrost thaw, mammoth tusk hunting and polar bear patrols. I reported from eastern Ukraine, Syria, the Olympics, the World Cup, the coldest permanently-inhabited place on earth and Chernobyl reactor four.
I’ve been honored with Scripps environmental journalism and Logan nonfiction fellowships.
